What counts as a site?+
One apex domain. Subdomains under the same apex (e.g. shop.brand.com and blog.brand.com) count as one site. Two unrelated brands count as two sites, even if you own both.
What is a credit and how do they get used?+
Credits are how Autopilot meters Optimizer execution. Each Optimizer costs a different number of credits internally (a metadata rewrite costs fewer credits than a full content rebuild). Cortex absorbs that variance so customers see a single per-credit price. You get 50 credits per site per month included on Autopilot.
What happens if I exceed my included credits?+
By default, Cortex stops at 2x your included credits per site (100/site on Autopilot) and surfaces a prompt before charging overage. You can lift the cap from settings. Overage credits are $4 each, billed at the end of the month.
Can I switch between Copilot and Autopilot mid-cycle?+
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, prorated for the remainder of the billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next cycle so you keep what you paid for.
How does the 7-day trial work?+
Card required at signup. You get Autopilot on 1 site with 50 credits for 7 days. We charge the first month on day 8. Cancel anytime during the trial and you are not charged. The plan defaults to Autopilot 1-site after trial; you can downgrade to Copilot before day 8 if you prefer.
Do unused credits roll over?+
No. Credits reset at the start of every billing cycle. Keeps the bill predictable and prevents end-of-month batch-and-burn behavior.
What if an Optimizer breaks something on my site?+
Every Optimizer can be set to review-required mode, where Cortex prepares the change and waits for your sign-off before deploying. For higher-stakes Optimizers (content rebuilds, redirect maps) this is the default. Every action is also versioned and reversible.
What if an Optimizer run fails?+
If the failure is on Cortex's side (LLM error, API timeout, internal exception), the credit is refunded automatically. If the failure is on your side (we can't authenticate, the Shopify endpoint is locked, etc.) the credit is consumed because the work to attempt was performed.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Monthly subscriptions stop at the end of the current cycle, no refunds for partial months. Annual subscriptions get a 30-day money-back window; after that we prorate a refund for the remaining months on request.
Do you offer enterprise pricing or contracts?+
The 100+ site bracket is the volume tier and is fully self-serve. If you need SAML/SSO, a DPA, custom security review, dedicated success, or volume above 250 sites, talk to us.
